I won’t write it for you, but I’ll coach you through the process… tell me more about the assignment in a comment here. What school do you attend? What have you already learned about an “informative essay”?
The #1 reason my students struggle with “I don’t know what to write” is that they haven’t done the required reading yet. If that’s true in your case, here’s an easy remedy:
- Read the assignment description carefully. List separately each of the things it asks you to do. This is your ransack list.
- With that list in hand, go back to the reading. Look for anything in the reading that has something to do with the things on your list. Take notes. Jot down where you found those things, so you can properly cite your sources later.
- Think about what you’ve learned. I can give you some analysis questions if you need help with this.
- Sit down and write the essay! Now you’ll know enough to answer a question or offer an opinion supported by the readings.
