New Author Plunge
Authors must navigate several daunting oceans to establish a writing career. There's the ocean of ideas, and ideas within ideas. There's the ocean of ways to approach and execute an idea. And finally, there's the ocean of publishing and marketing options, arguably more turbulent than ever.
The New Authors Plunge takes you deep beneath the surface of all these oceans to acquaint you with their many currents. It provides dedicated authors with an intimate, intensive, 8-week program that equips them with the gear and guidance needed to navigate the currents of every stage of the process.
In addition to detailed, knowledgeable instruction from seasoned editors and coaches, you'll receive personal feedback on your work as you go, and develop your craft alongside fellow authors.
The next cohort begins soon. Space is limited.

As Yogi Berra once said, “Ninety percent of [writing] is mental. So is the other ten percent.”
A large part of successful writing comes from the way the author approaches the writing process. Whether you want to supercharge your professional writing or your academic writing, we can help you understand and overcome all the challenges of the writing task and the writers' life.
Our goal is to help you think and act, to live and work, like a successful author. Part of this is a sort of life-coaching: building good mental and practical habits that lead to a successful writing life. Help with self-talk. Maximizing your human capacity. Wisely shepherding your time, space, emotions, and physical & mental energy.
Focus on your craft. Write better, right now!
A seminar is a great way to funnel tons of insight into your brain all at once. Our office on Vermont Avenue is a great venue for seminars: our 80" projection screen, comfortable chairs, central AC/heating, refreshments corner, and an 18-foot-long whiteboard accommodate groups as large as twenty and as small as two persons. We can also take any of our seminars to your venue, whether it's your own living room, a local library study room, or a corner table at a quiet cafe.
